Il libro
Tresor di Giulia Martini opera un originale connubio tra gesto lirico e riuso programmatico della parola già detta e già scritta, frutto di un ascolto, empatico e attivo, che attraversa secoli di suoni e di ritmi. Il fil rouge che si dipana nelle quattro sezioni del libro è il recupero dei primi documenti che attestano l’italiano antico, alla ricerca di un punto d’origine della lingua e della sua significazione: dalle iscrizioni murali ai documenti notarili, dagli atti di vendita ai conti navali, una molteplicità di materiali accomunati da un uso pragmatico del linguaggio, cioè che dà forma alla realtà in cui viviamo. Così vuole essere la parola poetica di Martini: una parola concreta, che inabita di giorno in giorno la bocca insieme al bere e al mangiare; una parola che è anzitutto evento e gesto. I suoi testi catturano nitidamente un presente in cui l’Io emerge e si definisce nelle sue relazioni con gli altri, in tranches de vie intime e collettive, manifestando con forza un radicale desiderio di comunione. La sua lirica è intrinsecamente dialogante con un Tu che si apre ad un Voi, e incarna l’epifania dell’indistinzione tra la voce altrui e la propria, tra noi e gli altri.

L’autrice
Giulia Martini è nata a Pistoia e vive a Firenze. A giugno 2018 ha pubblicato il libro di poesie Coppie minime (Interno Poesia). Ancora per Interno Poesia, ha curato l’antologia Poeti italiani nati negli anni ’80 e ’90, uscita in tre volumi fra il 2019 e il 2022. Nel 2023 ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca con una tesi intitolata L’apocalisse dialogica. Forme e funzioni degli scambi di battute nella poesia italiana del Novecento.

The book
Giulia Martini’s Tresor creates an original combination of lyrical gesture and programmatic reuse of the word already spoken and written, the result of an empathetic and active listening that spans centuries of sounds and rhythms. The common thread that unravels in the book’s four sections is the recovery of the first documents that attest to ancient Italian, in search of a point of origin of the language and its meaning: from wall inscriptions to notarial documents, from sales deeds to naval accounts, a multiplicity of materials united by a pragmatic use of language, that is, which gives shape to the reality in which we live. This is how Martini’s poetic word aims to be: a concrete word, which inhabits the mouth, day by day, together with drinking and eating; a word that is first and foremost an event and a gesture. Her texts clearly capture a present in which the Self emerges and defines itself in its relationships with others, in tranches of intimate and collective paths, forcefully manifesting a radical desire for communion. Her lyric poetry is intrinsically in dialogue with a You that opens up to a You, and embodies the epiphany of the indistinctness between the voice of others and one’s own.

Giulia Martini was born in Pistoia and lives in Florence. In June 2018 she published the book of poems Coppie minime (Interno Poesia). She edited the anthology Italian Poets born in the 80s and’90s, published in three volumes between 2019 and 2022. In 2023, she obtained a PhD with a thesis entitled L’apocalisse dialogica. Forms and functions of exchanges in twentieth-century Italian poetry.
