Sinossi:
La vicenda si colloca nell’Inghilterra del XII secolo sullo sfondo dei contrasti tra sassoni e normanni. Ivanhoe, figlio di Cedric, ama, riamato, lady Rowena. Ma Cedric ha deciso di dare in moglie Rowena a Athelstane per riportare una stirpe sassone sul trono e bandisce Ivanhoe, amico del re normanno Riccardo Cuor di Leone. Il giovane va crociato al seguito di Riccardo mentre, assente il re, Giovanni usurpa il trono. Al ritorno dei crociati, Ivanhoe batte tutti i campioni dell’usurpatore. Ma i nobili normanni lo fanno prigioniero con Cedric, Rowena e Athelstane. Vengono però liberati da re Riccardo e Robin Hood. Ivanhoe e Rowena infine si sposano.

This story takes place in 12th century England against the backdrop of the contrasts between Saxons and Normans. Ivanhoe, Cedric’s son, loves Lady Rowena. However, Cedric has decided to marry Rowena to Athelstane to restore the Saxon lineage to the throne and banishes Ivanhoe, a friend of the Norman king Richard the Lionheart. The young man becomes a crusader in the retinue of Richard and while the king is absent, John usurps the throne. Upon the return of the Crusaders, Ivanhoe defeats all the usurper’s champions. The Norman nobles take him prisoner with Cedric, Rowena and Athelstane. However, they are freed by King Richard and Robin Hood. Ivanhoe and Rowena finally marry.
